What happens in a typical StageStruck class?
At a StageStruck class, students participate in a number of activities. Usually we begin with a movement session or game for the younger children, which is followed by dance, using chart music or songs from shows. Singing involves warm up exercises, harmony work, microphone technique and performing to professional backing tracks. We will learn songs from the shows as well as chart/rock/pop music. Then acting, role play, improvisation, dialects, mime, stage fighting and much more. This is the basic structure of a class but it will vary from week to week. For instance one week we may focus more on acting and singing, the next dance and singing and so on. We try to cover all three disciplines in one lesson if we can.
