StageStruck Information

How do I register for a class?
Please email Jane at   Please state which class you are interested in.  You will then be contacted within 48 hours.
Can I park at the school?
There is  a car park at Busbridge Junior School.  You can also park on the road.  Do NOT park next door at Busbridge Village Hall.  This is for hall users only and you risk a fine or wheel clamping.
What do I wear to a StageStruck class?
Everyone must wear a StageStruck T Shirt which you will be given when you join.  Please wear it to every StageStruck class.
On your bottom half - any loose clothing that you can move in.  Tracksuits, leggings, combats or jazz pants are ideal.  You will be dancing and need to be able to move, therefore jeans are not advisable.  On your feet, trainers, jazz shoes, plimsolls or jazz boots are perfect.  Please do not wear any platform shoe or sandals (flip flops), they are impossible to dance in and also dangerous!  Girls with long hair must bring a hairband to tie back hair for dancing.
What do I need to bring?
Please bring a named water bottle.  No songsheets will be given to students at the moment due to our Covid Procedures.  You will be given a copy when you sign up for a class.
What happens in a typical StageStruck class?
At a StageStruck class, students participate in a number of activities.  Usually we begin with a movement session or game for the younger children, which is followed by dance, using chart music or songs from shows.  Singing involves warm up exercises, harmony work, microphone technique and performing to professional backing tracks.  We will learn songs from the shows as well as chart/rock/pop music.  Then acting, role play, improvisation, dialects, mime, stage fighting and much more.  This is the basic structure of a class but it will vary from week to week.  For instance one week we may focus more on acting and singing, the next dance and singing and so on.  We try to cover all three disciplines in one lesson if we can.

Do StageStruck run Holiday Courses?
Yes.  Look out for details of forthcoming courses on the site!
Do StageStruck students perform in school shows?
Yes they do. Jane has produced and directed 14 school shows involving as many as 190 students.  The next show will take place in July 2019 at the Princes Hall, Aldershot. All students are invited to take part but of course it is not compuslory.
Can I watch a class?
Friends, parents or relatives are not permitted to view classes.  Parents are welcome to wait outside the hall if they are concerned about their child.  Children do become inhibited around strangers and I find it disrupts a class.  The main door has glass panels so a class can always be observed from outside.
Can my friends and family come and watch?
Sorry but no.  StageStruck is not a youth club; students come to learn skills.  Continuity is vital and if different friends came every week this would be disruptive to the class.
Can my 4year old son/daughter join?
I have to have a cut off point and I am quite strict about this.  No student is accepted under 5 years of age i'm afraid.
How do I pay the fees?
Fees are payable on the first day of term.  PLEASE do not forget!  If fees are more than 14 days late your child will not be allowed to continue StageStruck classes.  If a student begins in the middle of the term, you will be invoiced for the remaining weeks in that term.  Don't forget your first class at StageStruck is FREE!!  Fees can be paid by cash or cheque.  Please make all cheques payable to StageStruck.
You can also pay in 2 instalments.  Please email Jane for further details.
